A Christmas Table Setting
I wanted to create a Christmas table setting and I had been dreaming about spices, so I bought some cinnamon sticks and played around a bit. I used some leftover ribbon, Ikea ornaments, pretty napkins and the cinnamon sticks to create a nice place setting for Christmas.
For the centerpiece, I put the rest of the Ikea ornaments in a Alvar Aalto vase. I took some Tiffany's lattice weave hors d'oeuvre dishes and filled them with persimmons, oranges and pomegranates. The white and red and orange all look lovely and the gold makes it really festive. And now I feel like Martha Stewart, it's a good thing. Or rather I feel like the Saturday Night Live version of Martha Stewart, you know, her topless Christmas Special?
For each place setting I put down a napkin and then tied together two cinnamon sticks and places them on top. I put a little gold ribbon in an ornament and placed that on the napkin as well. Delightful.
Honestly though, I think it's really pretty and not too crazy. Plus you can use the cinnamon sticks to stir your egg nog later. Or your matcha latte, I actually think egg nog is pretty gross.
