Pink and Orange, Orange and Pink
This dress was at the Dior Exhibit in Paris at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs. It was the largest exhibit of Dior ever held, and it seemed like everyone know this because we went to see it in September, it had already been on for 2 months, and even though we had tickets, we waited in line. It was so good we went twice. They say that Interior Design is Fashion's little sister, and that definitely makes sense to me. There is so much cross pollination between the two. This dress for example. Not only does its beauty lie in its form, but the color combination of Orange and Pink, and further, the juxtaposition of mohair with chiffon. The layers of design are incredible. Orange and Pink are an unexpected color combination that I used for a bedroom, especially for the pillows. I used three different prints for the pillows, traditional toile but in a modern colorway, Ikat, which is a woven fabric, and stripes, which like toile are a printed fabric. I liked the juxtaposition of traditional and modern, with vibrant colors to unite them.
